Congratulations to Mrs. Tina Stier on her retirement.
Additionally, Tina received the Regional Excellence in Education Award given out by ROE #33. Only three teachers/administrators in all of ROE #33 were selected for this award in 2017-2018. Her dedicated service to our students and staff has not gone unnoticed.
Tina has spent the majority of her career as a successful band teacher and administrator in the Avon and Abingdon-Avon Districts. Most recently, she serves as District Curriculum Director. In her role as Curriculum Director she is an important part of our move to 21st Century learning models, coordinates professional development, leads PLC meetings, promotes and implements STEM and STEAM curricula in our district, developed high quality Makerspaces for 2018-2019, and so much more.
Mrs. Stier will be returning to her Curriculum Director role on a part-time basis in August. We are excited to have her staying on with us.
Congratulations on retirement and your much deserved Regional Award for Excellence in Education.

Congratulations to Mrs. Malone on her retirement!
Mrs. Malone began her career 34 years ago at Hedding, during the entirety of her career she has been a highly respected educator. Her unparalleled work ethic and life-long zest for learning has been a model for students. She sets the bar high and her students strive to reach that bar out of respect for Mrs. Malone. Jerri Lynn is a consummate professional, and a leader at school and in our community. Mrs. Malone isn’t going too far. We wish her well in in her part-time retirement and are glad to have her staying on part-time to serve our students and staff. In 2018-2019, she will serve as a part-time instructional coach for K-5 mathematics in our district. Congratulations and “thank you” for your dedicated service.

AAHS Band at the Spring Musical. Great rendition of Uma Thurman #atownproud
May 24th, the last day for student attendance, will be a 2:10 dismissal day.
Congratulations Mrs. Dehority on your upcoming retirement. Mrs. Dehority spent 26 years at Hedding Grade School, not only teaching music, but also choreographing and directing Christmas programs for all K-5 students. Her flexibility, skill and professionalism was also apparent when she was asked to take a fourth grade teaching position for a few years. Fortunately, Mrs. Dehority had the opportunity to finish her career back teaching music, her real passion.
When asked what she will be doing during her retirement she said she was looking forward to more time for giving piano lessons. We wish her the best as she enters the next phase of her life.
