Congratulations to these two outstanding Hedding Grade School students and their parents for being chosen to attend the Western Region IPA Student Recognition Breakfast. Mercedes Hoyle and Lucas Andrews were unanimously chosen as two students who display great leadership qualities being diligent workers, respectful to all, reliable and responsible, and also kind and helpful to all. We were so proud to have them represent Hedding and the Abingdon-Avon communities.
Today a few 4th graders were able to attend a gathering at Carl Sandburg’s birthplace. We donated almost $300 that Hedding collected. We enjoyed reading some of his poetry and listening to other schools talk about Sandburg too.
